E-Sports / Games Design & Development

The qualification is aimed at learners who want to progress to employment in the esports industry, possibly via an apprenticeship, or who may aspire to enter higher education. 

The qualification is endorsed by the British Esports Association as being suitable for learners that want to work in the industry. This means that it will be recognised by employers and will support entry into the industry in a range of roles.

This qualification also offers learners the opportunity to progress to a range of higher education programmes, including bachelor’s degrees. If combined with another level 3 qualification, the range of possible higher education programmes will be broader.

Units include topics such as; E-sports skills, strategies and analysis, Enterprise and entrepreneurship in the E-sports industry, Health, wellbeing and fitness for E-sports players, E-sports events and more.

Working alongside our games development tutors you will have the opportunity to design, program and build your own video games from concept stages up to distribution stage. 

Starting with your initial ideas and concepts you will learn to build on iterations to develop a solid plan for a game, build virtual environments and design levels for games. You will also explore and gain knowledge in a huge range of gaming elements that will make you invaluable to the gaming industry. 

This will include testing, 3D modelling, sprites, coding, UI & UX design, Iterative Design, production, advertisement and building communities around your games.
