TMP is an independent specialist college that delivers creative qualifications to learners age 16+. We focus on creative, academic, personal and social accomplishments. We thrive on our leaners success and are proud that all of our staff and students work well together to ensure we met high expectations.

We believe that technical skills are only half of what it takes to apply your skills in the real world and TMP ensures that you are ready for your next steps by achieving your personal targets as well as vocational skills.

Maths & English

Individual Targets

If you require you maths & English GCSEs or Functional Skills, you can study alongside your creative qualifications and learn through innovative teaching that will relate to your creative course subjects and real world scenarios.

Personal & Social Development

As part of our curriculum we offer a range Personal and Social Development pathways. This includes employability skills and independent living skills to prepare you for things such as work experience, TMP conventions and performances and working as a freelance artist whilst studying with TMP.

Preparation for Adulthood

All too often we hear, "school didn't teach us these things!" Preparation for adulthood provides learners with the skills and knowledge of the big, wide world. From understanding financial aspects and budgeting to living independently, learning to drive or travel on your own and more, there's a lot to consider alongside improving your CV with qualifications.

TMP are extremely proud of the welfare and pastoral service that we have developed over the years, with many of our learners facing barriers at some point in the lives, student wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. We have a large, dedicated student welfare team that provide one-to-one sessions, counselling and therapy as well as a dedicated student council that do a brilliant job for learner voice.

About TMP College

TMP was originally set up as a music school. We soon realised there was a demand for creative and performing arts in the local community and we listened to our students to understand what was needed and what TMP needed to become to meet local needs.

TMP College is now Wigan's biggest and most dedicated creative college for students 16+ years of age with a range of six creative subjects to choose from. We pride ourselves on our learners diversity, creativity and success in education, particularly if learners have previously had a negative experience in education.

TMP employs a team of friendly industry professionals with years of experience, knowledge and industry connections to provide you with the opportunity to guarantee your dream career. We also employ our own students that have excelled throughout college and have an interest in becoming tutors, support tutors and industry specialists.

We are completely committed to making sure our learners experience at TMP is filled with positivity. Not only do we want our learners to gain a world of knowledge, experience and networks but we also provide a comprehensive and professional student wellbeing program for all learners to ensure the best learning experience possible.

We work with local businesses and venues to create real-life industry experiences for creative practitioners so that learners can gain genuine employability skills.

Our courses are delivered across three purpose built centre with music, art, games and media studios designed especially for our courses.
